CBD flowers: what is the best way to consume them?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid derived from the hemp plant (Hemp Sativa L.), particularly popular for its soothing, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties. The popularity of CBD flowers is undeniable: the diversity of effects, flavors, intensities, and uses makes them appealing and highly regarded.

Depending on the desired effects, CBD flower is consumed in various ways. The question naturally arises as to which method is best according to individual consumption expectations. Generally speaking, there is no single “best” method of consumption, simply different expectations.

Get your flowers ready, we’ll answer your questions!

CBD infusions

Smoking CBD flowers is not mandatory! The infusion method is a healthy way to enjoy the benefits of cannabinoids without smoking or vaping them. This technique is popular with beginners for its gentle effects and appealing flavors.

This is a good method of administration if you want long-lasting relaxing effects. CBD flower infusion will provide gentle relaxation on a daily basis. Reduce stress and anxiety, less pain, and naturally regulated sleep! It will take about 30 minutes to take effect and the effects can last for several hours!

For that :

  • Boil some water
  • Let it cool for a few minutes to avoid damaging the CBD molecules.
  • Soak your flowers in water, along with a fatty substance that will activate the cannabidiol (milk, butter, honey, oil…)
  • Let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Enjoy!

It is advisable to use organic CBD flowers for optimal effect. Similarly, we recommend pre-made organic CBD flower teas to avoid having to perform the “decarboxylation” process yourself, which activates the CBD. If you wish to do it yourself, simply heat your crumbled CBD on parchment paper in the oven for 45 minutes at 110°C (230°F) and let it cool for 30 minutes.

Culinary preparations with CBD flowers and oil

Those who appreciate the finer things in life will love using organic CBD flowers in their cooking! This method offers a similar advantage to brewing an infusion: gentle and long-lasting effects. The digestion time significantly increases absorption and makes the cannabidiol’s effects last longer (up to 7 hours!). Whether in tarts, brownies, cookies, or cakes, all culinary delights are equally appealing!

Remember to decarboxylate the CBD flowers to make the cannabidiol active. Similarly, consider adding fat to your preparation!

Smoking & vaporizing CBD flower

We don’t blame them; the real ones smoke CBD flowers! It’s worth remembering that combustion is very bad for lung health. Since smoked cannabidiol passes through the respiratory mucous membranes, the effects will be much faster than when ingested.

CBD flowers, on the other hand, are more potent when vaporized. With a vaporizer, not only do you avoid inhaling any smoke, but the absence of combustion prevents the degradation of CBD. Bioavailability is boosted: it increases from 8% when ingested to 20% when inhaled. In other words, the body absorbs more cannabidiol if you vaporize the CBD flower.

A CBD vaporizer is therefore the most efficient and fastest way to experience the effects of cannabidiol. For optimal use, adjust the temperature as follows:

  • 160-180°C: For the mild effects of cannabinoids
  • 180-200°C: For a significant and intense synergy of cannabinoids
  • 200-220°C: For a potent CBD flower that produces a high.

CBD flowers in oil

Another very effective method for consuming your flowers: making your own DIY CBD oil.

This will allow you to have your own personal cannabidiol concentrate oil. This oil will be even more effective if you consume it sublingually (a few drops under the tongue), but you can also mix it into any culinary preparation, or even put it in your vaporizer.

To make DIY CBD oil:

  • Decarboxylate your organic CBD flowers
  • In a heat-resistant jar, pour the oil of your choice (e.g., MCT coconut oil) and the CBD flowers with a teaspoon of sunflower lecithin.
  • In a saucepan, heat your plants in a bain-marie at 100°C for two to three hours. The water must not boil!
  • Filter your oil with a coffee filter.

Enjoy! The CBD flower will be even more potent!

CBD hash

Hash is made by separating the trichomes from CBD flowers to create a compact concentrate. Trichomes are the essential components on the flower that bind together terpenes, CBD, and other cannabinoids from the plant. Making a resin is therefore a good way to concentrate the cannabidiol and other cannabinoids from your organic CBD flowers!
